Message from Chairman

As we enter into 2016, I am honored and grateful for the opportunity to serve as your Chairman of the Conyers-Rockdale Chamber Board of Governors.  Thank you to all of the chamber’s members and its many volunteers for a successful 2015.  Without you, the Chamber simply does not exist.

Thanks to our talented, dedicated, and experienced chamber staff, your chamber is financially strong and is strategically positioned to take on the many challenges faced by businesses today. For the first time since the great recession, I’m excited to announce that in 2015, membership and dues revenue is nearing prerecession levels.

With the approaching shift in demographics and the explosive growth of social media, the Conyers-Rockdale Chamber strives to be on the leading edge of these challenging and imminent changes.  As Millennials and Generation Ys transition into the workforce and leaderships positions in our community, it is imperative that we offer programs and services that are relevant and add value.  I invite you to join or be a mentor to our Chamber’s RYPL (Rockdale Young Professional Leaders).  The group was formed in 2014 as a new chamber program to get our young entrepreneurs and business leaders more engaged with the chamber and community.  It is exciting to see that Rockdale’s future is indeed bright and in good hands.

But, our chamber is a relatively small chamber considering the number of businesses within the community.  With that in mind, I’m challenging our members to consider being a Pacesetter or upgrade to the next level.  Being a Pacesetter is a way for the active Chamber member to save money as well as add value and exposure to your business on a different platform.  For 2016, my employer, Bank of North Georgia committed to raising its Pacesetter level from Silver to Gold.  Will you?

My second challenge is for you to take advantage of the chamber’s referral program and put a $50 gift card in your pocket when you refer a business to the Chamber.  We all join the Chamber for different reasons.  My story for joining the chamber and how it’s helped me is compelling and I’m sure your story is even better.  Ask me about my story….and I would love to hear yours!

I look forward to 2016 and what it will bring to Rockdale County.  My commitment as Chairman is to serve in the best interests of our members and to look for ways to make Conyers-Rockdale a leading choice in metro Atlanta as the preferred place to live, work, study, and play.

Earl Wise, Chairman
2016 Board of Governors
